This policy covers the Booky.Iq app, including the Android app with package name com.bookyiq.app. For privacy questions, a copy of your data or an account-deletion request, email booky.iraq@gmail.com. You can also use Settings › Help & support in the app.
Information we use
Your account and profile
We use your name, username and account ID to create and identify your account. A display name may be created for you when you sign up. Registering with a phone number and password requires an Iraqi mobile number. We use phone numbers for signing in, password recovery and features where you give a contact number.
If you use Google or Apple sign-in, we receive the account information that service returns, including an email address when it is provided. We use it to sign you in and set up your Booky profile. Google and Apple run their own sign-in screens.
If you use a Booky password, it is sent to our Supabase sign-in service to create, check or change it. Password checks use a stored password hash. Your password is never part of your public profile.
You may add a profile photo, bio, gender and social links. We store these details together with your privacy, language and notification settings, so we can show your profile and apply your choices. Gender and service interests can also help choose content for your feed.
Bookings and home visits
We store your chosen venue, professional, services, appointment times, booking notes, price, fees and booking status, along with changes, cancellations and payment-status records. We use them to arrange and manage appointments and to show your booking history. This version of the app does not process online card payments.
For a VIP home visit, we collect the address, map position, type of place, arrival notes and contact phone number you give. Your map position is sent to our server when you ask for a home-visit price. The destination details are saved when you submit the booking.
You can see your own destination details. The assigned professional can see the exact address, map position, arrival notes and your phone number while the booking is confirmed, in service or completed, as long as the assignment still matches and neither of you has blocked the other. Under the same conditions, you can see the professional's phone number. These details stay visible after the visit is completed. Other venue staff may see booking details according to their permissions, but not the exact home-visit destination.
Messages, posts and connections
We store direct messages, chat photos and team-chat messages, with who sent them and when. We use them to deliver conversations and show message history and read status. Short message previews are also saved in the app's notification records.
We store posts and stories, captions, comments, reviews, likes, saves, views, follows, friend requests and blocks. We use them to show content, manage connections and apply your access settings. Saved venues and service interests help you find places and personalise your feed. If you use rewards, we store reward activity, coins and referrals to run that feature.
Photos and videos you upload go to our file storage. This includes profile and venue photos, chat photos, story and post media, and application photos. We use each upload only for the feature where you add it.
Location and maps
If you allow location access and use a nearby search, your location can be sent to our server to find venues near you. Moving the map sends the edges of the visible area to the server. Map images come from OpenStreetMap, which sees the map area you are viewing and your internet address.
Home-visit pins and venue-application pins are also sent to our server. A pin can come from your device location or from a place you choose on the map. You can refuse device-location access and browse or choose a pin by hand. The app asks for your position only while you use these features. It does not track your location in the background.
Voice calls and activity status
Voice calls use your microphone to send live audio to the other person. Calls connect directly or through Cloudflare's call relay, and Google connection servers may help set up the connection. Connection information, including internet addresses, is exchanged to set up the call and may reach the other person.
Booky does not record or save call audio. It does store call records: caller, recipient, status, start time, answer time, end time and why the call ended. These records support call history and call handling.
The app sends activity updates to show whether you are active or when you were last active. Settings › Privacy has an activity-status control.
Notifications, support and security
For push notifications, we store a notification token linked to your account, device platform and sign-in session, so alerts reach the right device. Firebase Cloud Messaging receives the token, account and notification identifiers, the notification type and a short alert. Alerts about private messages use a general wording, not the message text. Offer and promotion alerts are only sent if you allow them in the notification settings.
If you contact support in the app, we store your account ID, the request category, your message, your device platform and the app version when available. We use them to handle your request.
Sign-up and password recovery process your internet address and security records to limit repeated requests and protect accounts. Password recovery sends a code by text message. We also keep sign-in information on your device so you can stay signed in or switch between saved accounts.
Venue and VIP applications
Venue applications include the venue name, category, city, address, phone number, map position, description, social link, services, opening hours, schedule and photos. Drafts can be saved before you submit. We use this information to review the application and set up an approved venue.
VIP applications include the business and provider, service area, working times, travel arrangements, internet availability, equipment and hygiene confirmations, notes and photos. We use them to review home-visit services and their availability.
Who can see information
Your name, username, profile photo and follower counts can be public, even when your account is private. A private account limits who sees more of your content, such as personal stories and your bio. It does not hide your whole identity.
People you message can see your messages. Team chat depends on team membership. Posts, comments, reviews, likes and social links may be visible to others, depending on the feature and your privacy settings. Approved venue details and venue content can be public. Your account email and phone number are not shown on your public profile, but a phone number you publish as a venue contact or social link can be public.
Venues and professionals can see the bookings they are allowed to manage. The Booky administrator can access account, booking, support, application, review and notification records, and reviews submitted content. Notification records can include private-message previews.
Services that help run Booky
| Service | What it does |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Runs sign-in, the database, file storage, live updates and server functions. |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging | Delivers push notifications using device tokens and notification details. |
| Cloudflare | Relays calls, and hosts the administration site and the venue-image service. |
| OpenStreetMap | Supplies map images. Requests include the map area and your internet address. |
| OTPIQ | Sends password-recovery text messages to your phone number. |
| Google and Apple | Provide optional sign-in. Google also helps set up call connections. |
If you open a map direction or a social link, that outside service receives the request, and its own privacy rules apply.
We do not sell your personal data. Booky does not show ads.
Security
Booky's connections use HTTPS to protect data in transit. Voice calls use WebRTC, which encrypts audio in transit. Sign-in checks, database access rules and file-access rules limit access by account and feature. Public profiles and venue content are meant to be seen by others. Private chats are stored on our server and are not end-to-end encrypted.
How long information stays
Account, booking, conversation, upload and application records are kept while you use the features described above. When a story stops being shown, or a temporary link expires, the stored record or file is not necessarily erased.
What happens when you delete your account is described in Delete your account below. Signing out or removing the app from your phone does not delete your account.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and social links in the app.
- Use Settings › Privacy for a private account, activity status and blocked accounts.
- Use Settings › Privacy › Download my data to get a copy of your available account data. The app shows it as text with a Copy button.
- Delete your account in Settings › Account & security › Delete account.
- Email booky.iraq@gmail.com with questions about your data.
- Use the app's notification settings and your phone's permission settings to control notifications, location and microphone access. Some features need these permissions to work.
Age and changes to this policy
Booky.Iq is meant for people aged 18 and over.
When this policy changes, we post the new version on this page and change the effective date. Email booky.iraq@gmail.com with any questions.
Delete your Booky.Iq account
You can also follow these steps on the Delete your account page.
This applies to Booky.Iq, including the Android app com.bookyiq.app, run by TechnoPro Iq.
In the app
- Open Booky.Iq and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open Settings › Account & security › Delete account.
- Type DELETE and tap Delete.
When the request succeeds, the app signs you out and removes the account from its saved accounts. If you see an error, the request was not completed; email us for help.
Without the app
Email booky.iraq@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my Booky.Iq account". Include your Booky username or the phone number on your account. You do not need to install or sign in to the app. Never send your password or a text-message code.
We reply from booky.iraq@gmail.com and confirm the request with you before anything is deleted. We only delete an account when the request matches the username or phone number on it. If we cannot confirm the account is yours, we will ask you to delete it from inside the app instead.
What is deleted and what stays
- Deleted: your sign-in account (username, phone number, password and sign-in sessions), your profile, who you follow and who follows you, your blocks, saved places, notifications and app settings. Other records tied to your account, such as your bookings and messages, are removed or no longer linked to you.
- Kept: venue pages you own stay on Booky.Iq but are no longer linked to you; email us if you want a venue page removed. Support requests you sent are kept without your account attached, so open requests can still be answered. Photos you uploaded can stay in our file storage until we clear them; email us to have them removed sooner. Copies may stay in our hosting provider's backups for up to 30 days before they are overwritten.
- Time to complete: right away when you delete in the app. For email requests, within 30 days after we confirm the request.
If you want a copy of your data first, use Settings › Privacy › Download my data before deleting.
